:.plastic soldiers.:

We stood like plastic soldiers,
And dreamed of rainy nights,
Snug and tight in our lovers arms,
Away from the city lights,
Talking of the years to come,
Where we wont feel so alone.
And I drowned in my sorrow,
Of the moment that you'd leave me,
These two plastic soldiers,
Knowing that together was how they should be.

And the stars they fell upon them,
Their hope shattered all the pain,
These two plastic soliders,
Sitting out in the rain.

Hands entwined like their hearts,
They watched the sun rise and fall,
Tears of wishful goodbyes trickling
Down their plastic forms,
Their arms didn't want to let go,
But the world wouldn't let them be,
Trapped in the reality of everything we see,
They live in these unseen moments,
These two plastic soldiers,
Wishing that goodbyes didn't have to be

And life had many problems,
Everytime they got thrown their way,
The gentle, tender kisses,
Made all the pain go away
The loving songs he crooned to her,
In the light of the stars,
Was the love you see when you look above,
Late at night when in your car.

And the stars they fell upon them,
Their hope shattered all the pain,
These two plastic soliders,
Sitting out in the rain.

So many sleepless nights wasted,
But never to be forgotten,
These two tall plastic soldiers,
And their meetings in the rain,
The long, drawn-out embraces,
The passionate kisses,
And the whispered words that no one heard,
But that everyone knew,
The simple phrase that everyone longs for,

His goodbyes were 'I love you.'

And tonight they stand up on that hill,
With the water on their skin,
Their hands entwined alike their hearts,
Awaiting the nights end,
They make their wishes upon stars
With tears shining in their eyes,
Her eyes they stay locked on his as they say goodbye,
Sighing as they hope they can meet the next night,
But they know they have to try.

And the last goodbye he whispers,
He tells her of his love,
He tells her she's beautiful
And her skin is as soft as silk,
He touches her cheek and smiles,
Her face is as pale as milk.
He knows that it can't last forever,
That the weight of the world will win,
But he hopes he loses his soul in her arms,
And that her heart always rests with him.

And for the last time he whispers
'I love you, my dear.'
One last embrace and one last kiss,
Before their spirits disappear.

And the stars they fell upon them,
Their hope shattered all the pain,
These two plastic soliders,
Sitting out in the rain.
